In addition I should add that Freyja has a cloak which allows her to turn into a falcon, Odin has two ravens at his side and turned into a raven for a time, Freyr and Freyja were hostages given after the War between vanir and Aesir, given in an unfair exchange as the Aesir and Vanir were meant to give their best warriors, however, the aesir did not give up their best. Baldur was killed by Loki, who made someone blind (can't remember his name) throw a spear made of the only metal her was vulnerable to at him, Surtr is the oldest being, and I think that's all I have to add.

Oak:
1. Odin never turned into a raven. He had two ravens, thought and memory, who served him.
2. Freyr and Freyja were not so much hostages as they were a peace treaty. Njord and Freyr traveled to Asgard to live with the Aesir as a sign of their good intent and trade, and Freyja chose to journey with them. Odin sent his brother and Mimir, the giant. He never promised to send the best Aesir to the Vanir. The Vanir thought the exchange was unfair because they didn't like the advice mimir and Odin's brother gave.
3. Loki tricked Hod, Baldr's blind twin brother, into shooting an arrow with mistletoe at Baldr- which was the only thing that could kill him. Not a metal.

Weiland is no more a godly figure than any other hero. The dwarves are the smith of the gods. A challenge for you, list one classical source of literature that speaks of Weiland smithing for the gods ;)
