What's more is the fact that mods use their power to bully others as well, not saying all, or even often.(or even noticed by most) No direct offense, MODS. But It would be more efficient to have bots as mods, for their feelings cannot be "poked at", and trolling/annoying would be rare at best, no matter what time of day..
There are some people that bully on the forums because they don't agree with somebody else's opinion. What they don't understand is that everyone has there own opinion. You can talk about it but, nobody has the right to force someone to tray and change it. A lot of people get really mad when certain topics come up, no offense. Whenever I tell people I know that they should join the site I always have to tell them what not to talk about because I don't want to see their feelings hurt. I wish there was some way everyone could talk civilly and without being rude, or judgmental. No offense to anyone, but there are a lot of people who are completely serious about their questions that get called fluffys. I think that's a form of bullying, does anybody else?
I don't visit chat. Mostly because I'm always here on my phone and it isn't very compatible.
But, I would like to add that smaller communities have more friendships and bonds made, more time spent inbetween those people, and overall a more home - like, family feel. I've been lucky enough to find a few of them, but because they do have fewer people, they tend to not last more than a few years.
Bigger has its advantages too. Bigger is more productive and famous.
I'm here to help people, making friends is a perk. I don't expect this place to ever feel like home, simply because of how much of an overturn we have with members coming and going.
Yeah, there are definitely many people on here who are rude, mean, judgemental, insulting and resort to name calling. And that is simply for not knowing something or for not validating the personal opinions and experiences of the person doing the insulting. In chat and the forums. Part of the time, I will not even go into chat, because of the certain people that seem to always be on there that are usually the ones committing these offenses. And, surprisingly, they never get gagged. Not to mention, I've seen people get ridiculed and called fluffies and role players and even immature on here, for believing certain things that most people on here do not. And the really sad part is that these people being called all these names are completely right about what they are saying. It's just the occult/magickal comminity (if this site is any indication) is surprisingly narrow minded. I know atleast one person who is ridiculously knowledgeable about magick and the occult and has been studying like crazy for years who would be hated on this site because he believes, practices and/or knows about so many things that many other occultists and magickal practicioners just don't understand. And sadly, have no particular desire to even try. They would just rather make fun of people and/or discount the subjects as being somehow fake or not valid.
Ive found a pattern. People serious about magick are usuallu outsiders or bullied in school and life. though most by choice(outsider part) the ones that just want a couple spells to look cool or get revenge are the bullies. I think this site should ban anyone who isnt actually into it. It should still be fun just not a playground. Also they should group us so that pros teach beginners. By coice. Also teacher systems should be in each coven. It will save a lot of headaches. Magic is serious. Lets be serious. Age doesnt matter. Bullies get out of this site. Most of us escape here from you.
I am shocked to see that no Mods have replied on this post... Bulling is wrong in many ways and I don't think I need to explain why it is wrong. Hopefully this kind of thing stops, but since there is going to be someone once to replace the shoes of a bully in a week or so it may not. But we can still enforce and stand up for each other.
It could be that the mods do far more than any of you know because you don't see it happen. Perhaps they haven't responded to this thread because these cases are handled without announcement.
BTW, being told you're a fluffy or being debated down for believing in something ridiculous like Twilight vamps, isn't bullying.
If your little feelers get hurt because you can't listen and learn rather than arguing over something you learned from a book, TV, forum post, etc. rather than life experience, then that's your own issue.
The whole idea of this post was not meant to turn into a "who is bullying who" thread. Like all of my posts, it was meant to provoke thought. People do need to grow a backbone, yet others should show more tolerance. This was not about "fluffies" as roleplay on a non roleplay site should not be tolerated. Like I said, I love this site and would love to see it grow into what it should be, A community of open minded occultists...
Harassing people is bulling and constantly making fun of people for their views is bulling. Let me ask you did you fully search the seas? No were still exploring the ocean. So who knows mermaids and the loch ness could be real. We have no facts to disprove them either. We are suppose to accept ALL views. Role playing is when your saying you are this or you are that. If someone says i think so and so is real they are entitled to that opinion. Enough with the bulling and enough with the favoritism is must end NOW.
