familiar

I have received a familiar and i was wandering if someone could post what they know about them so that I may know more.

Familiars are beings of spritual connections to the one they are familiarized with.

Familiars differ in species and in forms.
I believe SilverVixen, I hope it's o.k if I mention her, has a pet rat of whom she has made her familiar.
My familiar on the other hand is not of your average species or even of this plane, her name is Ehtanie she's the most beautiful blue dragon you ever did see (she's useless except for eating chickens) but nice to look at.

Anyway, familiars come to you or you may come to them and cast a ritual or even a simple spell to make them yours.

How this connection works is a little strange.
First is that you mut have any varying creature of any varying plane and they must share a lot in common with you.
You 2 must like each other for this to work out.
And as if it were by birth, you 2 become "familiar" with eachother's entity and surpass any spiritual barrier keeping you apart.

Familiar and familiarized often understand eachother in body language, thoughts, feelings etc...

Familiars are animals which help you in magick. They can be spirits, entities, or what-have-you, however they are generally considered to be animals that exist with you on the physical plane that help you in your practices. These can be rats, cats, dogs, or any other animal you can think of.

I have no familiar because at this moment in my life I cannot keep any around me and no animals have come into my life in such a way that they could do the above.
