no it doesn't. in fact, very few people see spirits. Each person has a natural ability that they can tap into. Mine, for instance, is temperature. I can heat up my body or cool it down with focus, and I can project small amounts of heat through my hands. I have even learned to draw in heat from things in one hand and transfer it through to my other hand where I can send it out a few feet. Its not that impressive, and most people can learn to do it through practice, but my "knack" is for temperature control.
