Wiccan Title?

The subject of who can be called Wiccan and who cant has been something on my mind lately. For awhile i was calling myself Wiccan until about last year when i was told that the title was wrong and only those who have a lineage/are in a coven can be Wiccan ect. and was a major blow to what i thought. For awhile i felt very un-centered and out of place. Something as small as a title really upset me. I guess one can say i was victim of the fluff perhaps? Since then i have been just using the term "pagan" and im still unsure of the title but my belief system has not changed at all.
What do you guys think on the subject?
(i dont mean to offend anyone in any sort of way~)

Those are not titles, its a way of life, a life style and you can call yourself what you please. YOU know who YOU are deep in your heart and soul, no one should tell you nor judge for what you are and what ways, gods you worship, girl do not hesitate in your decision whatever it is!

Thank you for the advice~ i deep down like the idea of Eclectic Wiccan and i think im going to go with it. Thanks again for making me realize something that has always been there, i just needed to find it again.

Whether or not someone believes someone else who says they are Wiccan or not depends on their state of mind and their tradition, if any. You will find that Gardnerians believe that you are only truly Wiccan if you were initiated by either Gardner himself or one who is in his initiative lineage. This is not the case, obviously and we can all see that. You are truly Wiccan if that is what you strongly feel you are. Generally people who are not a part of a tradition will believe that they were initiated by the Gods.
