Hey,
I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to completely slow down before astral projecting, I can get down to the deepened relaxation state - although as soon as I feel my spirit self moving I jump with shock (not on purpose), but it just happens and I have no idea how to get around it. It seems to be what's stopping me - i've been practicing for a while now.
Any help would be much appreciated,
Thx - Adam. :)
this is very common for many people even with my self at times. I'm not sure if this will work for you cause each person body responds differently during traveling for different reasons. like I said I have felt that before and it is cause of two reasons that i experienced.
- First reason could be your mind and soul could have been relaxed and was ready to travel but your body was not fully relaxed yet so you received a jolt to draw back your soul in your physical body.
- Second reason could be you are projecting to higher vibrational bodies that can be more difficult if not ready to do so. if this is the case try to gradually work through each mundane body.
sorry I forgot to mention if it is the first one try to take a shower, perform a # 2 in the bathroom (that really helps), don't eat within 4 hours of travel, brush your teeth, and/or go for a run before your shower
The astral really doesn't have time like we do, some dispute they don't have it at all. I find it interesting that you feel you must "slow down". You may be sensitive to the change of perception from your physical body into the astral. Time is relative and some people feel as though time moves faster than others. I would suggest (in pairing with forte's advice) to meditate and invision the face of a clock with the seconds hand ticking away. Let the speed of this clock go at a rate that feels natural to you. You may find that it is going faster than a normal clock or the same speed. Gradually slow it down until it is going at a snails pace. Then continue with your astral projection. This should help you to "slow down". I do this when I am nervous, excited, or stresses and feel like time is going too quickly. It helps me to slow down and live in the moment.
Isn't that chronokinesis? I'll give it a go - maybe it'll work, I never considered the time thing - I was worrying a little about the amount of time it takes to do it, everything seems so rushed I feel like I can't stop a minute
@ fortee667 - I've just been reading over this post, what do you mean by higher bodies? confused.. I know there's layers to us - like emotional self, spirit self, astral self etc.. but I don't quite get you - Adam
I don't like the word "kinesis". No it isn't any sort of time travel or even time manipulation. It's a little guided imagery to trick your mind into going slower. It's psychology! Lol
We check clocks everyday, We rely on them. Time is important in this modern age, and being fast and efficient...even more so. People are always in a hurry!
But it wasn't as much in the past. A few hundred years back, time pieces were very expensive and only for those who were wealthy. Go back further and they relied on the sun only.
Time is relative, it doesn't really exist! We make it exist. So therefore, it is all in our heads! Nature only has two true "times", day and night.
When you teach yourself to slow down through this little clock trick, it conditions your mind to slow down and discard the real world clock, even for just the time you are in meditation.
I also suggest you not look at clocks as much. If you have a wall clock that ticks the second, get rid of it. The more clocks we have in the house, the more we will feel rushed. I use alarms to remind me when I need to do something at a certain time. I rarely look at the clock. And I only have three clocks in my home, my microwave, my alarm clock, and my phone.
yes there are different bodies that operate in different planes but i doubt this was the issue since you did not know.
there is the physical body in which you are in , then there is the etheric body; then the astral body; then the mental body; following that is the casual/spiritual body then there are others but the names of them are controversial. in each body you project your soul to travel in that corresponding plane. those are the common five bodies our soul can travel in. I was taught that there are two other bodies but i can't tell you what i have not experienced
each body operates in different vibrational levels
for me when I first traveled to a higher plane. it is as if I ground the body in the realm i'm in before i attempt to travel in a higher plane. to ground you have to have understanding of where you are. also that you learned and experienced what was needed to move on (that is the bast way I can explain what i'm talking about)
some people who are experienced seem to be able to directly tap in to the realm of there desire for example from physical to the casual just as soon as they fall into trance state.
Thanks for you reply WhiteRav3n and forte667,
Sorry I'd been reading a lot on various bits here and there, just noticed a similarity in method, anyways I think your right about it being psychology,
So forte667 - basically we start off with the lowest vibrational body & work our way up to the higher astral planes etc with practice? just how I enterpreted what you said :)
