Are "we" at war?

Post # 1
We all know that living some hundred years ago wasn't the best time for studying the Arts. Now we have much more freedom, but there are, unfortunately, ignorant beings who are suspicious and may even hate most of what we do. So here comes my question: Is there some kind of "Anti-Magick" movement around still?

For one i believe the time you are reffering to the christian church had much more influence than it does now. As for any "anti-magic" movements i do not know because magic has an infinite number of definitions.

Alot of christian people dont like magic or they are very skeptical to what we do. and In some countries its totaly forbidden, not because they belive in the bible, but they may belive it is immoral. Undeveloped and superstitious cultures have a complex relationship to witches, magicians, fortune tellers and such, because it is inexplicable and scary. In the west we are more logical, and search for explanations to strange fenomena, like all kinds of kinesis and psychic abilities for example.

War...there is no war, that's nonsense. Ignorant or not we are not at war with anyone. To see it as war is such a negative and ignorant thing itself. If you see it as a "war" you will mmake it that.

the church and hollywood perverted most of the craft. but im sure that if you tell everyone that you practice witchcraft some "anti-magic" movement will come around. some people can be so ignorant.

Hello
About 1995 the Wiccan Religion was accepted by the Military as a legitimate Religion that is granted to have regular ceremonies (just like other religions i.e.; Roman Catholics, Christians, Jewish Rites). I know for sure the US Air Force has accepted the Wiccan Religion per se.
Have you seen "Bewitched," "Charmed," "The Craft," "Warehouse 13," the "Twilight" Saga, the "Harry Potter" movie series phenomena,the "Sorcerer's Apprentice," and all the on-line magickal websites for spells, herbs, wands, magickal tools etc.?
If the USA Christians were at war with Wiccans I believe I get you to say, then all this would not have happened as it is now and proliferating. So, it is a fallacy for you to think of any such war at this time and age.
Must be some Christians puffy childish bravado at trying to instigate such an inane thought.

Hello, whichzoey;
If the US Government (the US Military in particular), has granted the legitimacy of the Wiccan Religion to perform regular ceremonies, like the other major religions then, the "Wiccan" Religion is no more a cult than the Mormons. And, Religious freedom, which is one of the USA's prime directives (and darn proud of that!) in our "1776 Declaration Of Independence" which Mexico forgot to write in (did you know Priests and Nuns are not allowed to dress in their religious garments outside of their religious compounds?) then, your girl-friend is not allowing religious tolerance which is exactly what the USA is NOT about.
