changing god to gods

I like that idea. The governments solution is to just take that part out of the pledge and this displeases lots of people. Changing it to Gods is a more logical solution and solves a high percentage of the issues with the whole situation. Great idea. I'm on board with it 100%.

We shouldn't change it. I agree it goes against religion. But it's a tradition. We've had it for years, created in the name of the U.S.A. I hate the usa but I still respect it.

"God" in the constitution is not the Christian "God." It is synonymously used with the god of nature, or the laws of nature.

Although the Bible shows up in court, it is merely an oath to tell the truth, therefore if you are found to have lied, you'll be charged with perjury. If you're not Christian you have the choice to say "I will affirm" which has the same meaning--if you lie, you're under perjury of the court.

There is a separation of Church and State although many Christians will argue (ignorantly) differently. This is why public schools don't pray or teach the creationist's theory.

You should look more into your history. Here, read this.

Why change something just because some find it offensive? It is sad enough that we have to say "happy holidays" instead of "merry christmas" because it reminds some people of Christianity. The basic meaning of it is still the same, no matter what you substitute it with ;)

Our Founding Fathers were barely Christians and heavily influenced by Masonic and Enlightenment ideas. "God" does not mean Yahweh it is simply the creator(s) whatever he she they it may be.

Im Christian, but I see a relationship here. All religeons that are based on one god worship the same divine being (likely excluding pure Bhudists (unless what I know is mistaken), and BTW the Budha was only a great philosopher who may have received God's enlightenment, not a god himself) that created this and all other universes, just in different contexts or names (it's more political than faith based to me). Polytheists may have simply mis-identified arch-angels, or other higher beings, as gods themselves (this theory may vary depending on if there are ET's).

And for those who worship nature, by praising and honoring God's creation, we praise and honor God, as nature itself is an extension of God.

In conclusion, oaths, pledges, etc. using the word God can apply to all religions.
