Too many books and articles are solving this matter, but get me confused...where I`d do the following and when, how many times?
and these my ponder points...
1-At invoking, I see that the author said(invoke air at east turn to north and invoke the earth at north and...so on till close the circle), I think by this manner I invoke the 4 elements at once...so when I should use this one?and what the benefit of invoking the 4 elements at once if I want to deal with fire or water for example?
2-If wish to invoke a particular element,go to its quarter and invoke just it and finish(without completing the circle)or invoke it at the 4 quarters? and at banishing...banish the element spirits at its own quarter or have to banish it at the 4 directions?...and if want to invoke 2 elements, what would be the regime?
"1-At invoking, I see that the author said(invoke air at east turn to north and invoke the earth at north and...so on till close the circle), I think by this manner I invoke the 4 elements at once...so when I should use this one?"
-you will use it when casting a circle.. if your manner of casting for protection is using the 4 elements, then you may use this technique.. others, like me i do invoke the adversarial powers of darkness of the directions (i do invoke all the directions including southeast, northeast, etc) not only for protection but also a confirmation of me being a master of the earth (as a luciferian)..
if you want to invoke just a particular element, first cast your circle then go the direction of the particular element that you want to invoke (you may use some props for this like leaves for earth, bowl of water for water, a candle for fire and a statue of bird for air) in this manner, you are charging the circle for just a particular element-this is done when you want to evoke a particular elemental (king or regent)..
casting your circle is very important in invocations (well, for me) because of some reasons you are inviting other entities (and these entities really do want to ruin what you are doing)..
If invoking air (or any element) i invoke earth (always earth) along side it for balance. Because Earth is fixed and encompassing of other elements (in my paradigm).
As the other two have said, do what you want. If you agree with Crowleys "Magick is the science and art of creating change in conformity with ones will" Then if magick is a science one must experiment with it until he finds results which suits him best, thats how we all gain experiences, obviously to others reading this I don't mean that after one week you should practice anything too drastic but when it comes to the pentagram rituals experimentation is the best way to go.
