I'm new, and recently heard how to make a wand. Do you really need one, or can you just use your hands? Does the wand help beginners in any way? Thanks!
You don't really need a wand I myself just use my finger. Making the wand yourself would be better than buying one though because the effort you take to make it will infuse the.wand with your energy and makes it more personal.
To be honest, no magick tool is really 'needed' in general. It all depends on the practitioner. Sometimes tools help you manifest your energy as well as give you the mindset needed to preform magick. However, if you strengthen your will enough, you can preform magick with your will alone. That would be ideal. But for most people, the tools are an important part. It's easier to stay focused when there are parts of the spell/ritual that you can actually see/feel and focus on.
that is true, i read there was a cripled practioner that was wheel chair bound and couldn't cast the circle, invokation of the towers or spirits of east, west, north south..etc etc..
so the practioner did the whole magickal rite in his mind, imagining the room with altar, incense, candles, everything needed to do his work
and the workings manifested successfully..
thats why i do everything in the astral realm, because i dont have a big room for rituals and if the GODS AND THE GODDESSES wanted a full rite dedicated to them they would of got me a big house to the full rites...
I seen pictures pagan soldiers in irag war ,doing a rite on the desert
doing a pagan rite with what he had his will and faith..
Nope. This is not like the movies or harry potter. The early witches didn't use wands nor sticks. That's something that you stereotyped from the movies. Although, a wand would be more like a ceremonial tool it does not have any special energy or 'magic' to it. Get your head were it is right now.
Well how are you defining "early witches"? There are instructions for multiple wands in the Key of Solomon and that dates back to the 14th or 15th century, and it's pretty unlikely that they just invented wands for that particular text.
As far as i know wands are derived from scepters.
This would make sense as they are both expressions of power.
Scepters were found in ancient Egypt, so i really don't believe they are a recent idea.
Perhaps as a ritual tool it is a recent idea, but as Chiron said the key of solomon details the making and inscribing of a magical wand.
