I have been studing many different topics since I was 16. Recently I found my patron Goddess Hecate. After years of lack luster results, one day I finaly just called out "if there are any gods out there prove it to me and you will have a follower". In hind site not the smartest thing to do, but it worked. That night a good friend of mine (who is the closest thing to a high priest of Hecate in my area)and I shared a dream of her. I know it was her because i told him what she looked like and he was a little shocked because he had never told anyone what she looked like when she comes to him. Since then I have been her follower.
One of my many questions is how much do perscription drugs interfere with spell work and dream communication. I have had some rather difficult medical problems since last November. I have been on heavy narcotic painkillers since then. Im startign to feel like Im being heard, but i have gone deaf spiritualy. Could this be because of the drugs or could it be something Im missing? any help would be greatly appriciated.
I don't think that the drugs should cause to much interference. Also, that you are not getting answers is common, The deities listen, but don't always answer back. But I am happy for you being able to learn your patron goddess, and wish you luck with your studies and with life.

The only reason im concerned is because the dosage is literaly the legal limit because ive been on it so long. Most of my other senses are dulled as well. I just dont want to miss something important because of needed modern medication.
I don't believe it is the drugs effecting you. The Gods are big believers in free will and causing us to learn by standing on our own two feet and why should they answer you when they can allow you to learn from experience after all that is all we can measure objectively.
In time you will become more attuned to Hecate and trust me as another follower of hers she can take you on many a wonderful journey in dreams and in deep trance.

Thats one of the reasons why I ask for a way to get to what im aiming at instead of a prayer to have her fix it. I have a question for you thought. It might be me (or what im doing) but is she some what tempermental? She has been an amazing Patrones to me, but sometimes I feel like i get the spiritual equivalent of a smack to the head.
Lol the good thing about Hecate is that she is certainly not fluffy and nice, if she disagrees with something or you ned to be taught a lesson you'll no about it! Remember she is a triple goddess she can be the loving mother but also the wise crone ho just like elderly human women get tired of things easily and don't mind telling you so.
Of course she wouldn't do anything to harm you, but also as a mother a bit of harsh love can go a long way.....
