Gandhi drank it and so does Bear Grylls. There are some other famous people who admit to this as well. An acquaintance also does it every morning thinking its purified by his liver but I guess thats not recommended for alcoholics. But his hair has grown back and he states hes feeling really well by doing this. What do you think?
I wouldn't advise drinking or eating anything that your body is purposely trying to get rid of. There are some people that believe drinking urine is beneficial because it contains vitamins and nutrients. Although it is a fact that it does contain nutrients, I, personally, would not drink it unless I was forced to, or unless I was dying. There are a lot of articles on the internet about urine therapy.
drinking urine? I probably would not do or recommend. Urine contains alot of things the body doesnt need or want (it is waste after all). on a positive note, Urea (the main component of urine) is not really toxic. Most urine is sterile so its usally safe from bacteria. It can be used to rehydrate the body in times were water is hard to fine. Its important to remember that every time your body processes the waste it will get more condenced. this can eventially lead to harm. It was used in the past to help clean the teeth. They did not drink this, they just used it as mouth wash. I dont believe urine would help hair grow back for any reason. Urine is just bodily waste.
The liver wouldnt really do much in the process. the urine would get to the blood stream then be filtered out by the kidneys.
actually kurost urine can't rehydrate you at all because of the high salt concentration it actually dehydrates you more, It would be like trying to drink ocean water to survive. In my opinion Bear Grylls cares more about ratings than teaching you how to survive, The only survivor show I respect is survivor man because he survives and does his own camera work but that is off topic. drinking urine is not all that beneficial for your health so I don't recommend it.
brock it can rehydrate you. it can work this way 1 or 2 times In a person who was well hydrated before hand.(before it becomes unpractical and unsafe to drink (http://survivalcache.com/water-purification) If it is purified using relitivly simple methods it will work for longer. As I posted it will get filtered out by the kidneys again and slowly become harmful. While it does have high concentrations of salt, it can still hydate you for a short time. I never watch any of the survival shows, so im not familiar with them.
