"All Witches are not Wiccan and all Wiccans are not witches"
I went through about 7 pages to see if there was a similar topic and haven't found any. Now I just looked at the titles and if one seemed like it was going to be similar I clicked. So if there is one, sorry I missed it.
One thing I would like to stress, since I haven't seen it talked about here yet, and I wished someone had told me before.
Witchcraft and Wicca are NOT the same thing.
Wicca is a religion. Witchcraft is a practice, which can be practiced with any religion. Wicca focuses more on the divinity. More on the Lord and Lady. Wicca is a more light, love, religion. Wiccan's practice witchcraft when they do spells. To be Wiccan, you don't have to do spells.
Witches do not follow the Rede. And I wish more Wiccans would realize this. I personally do not believe in Karma, 3-fold or the Rede (which again why would I? I am a witch)
There are witches who preform curses/hexes. (I'm also tired of people saying "Well you aren't a witch if you preform a hex"....bullpoop)
Like I said, I just wish someone would of told me. When I became interested in Wicca at 13, I was a fluffy bunny. The reason why people get so confused on Wicca/Witchcraft is because authors nowadays use them interchangeably and they are not.

I would certainly agree with your statement that not all Witches are Wiccan.
However, I would disagree with the second half of your statement. Wiccans are Witches. The religion of Wicca includes the practice of Witchcraft as an essential part of its practices. Now many Wiccans don't deal in a lot of spellwork, that that does not mean that they don't perform magic on a regular basis. Every time one casts a circle or charges a tool one is doing magic, or witchcraft if you prefer. In fact when Gerald Gardner initially began what is known today as Wicca he referred to it as the cult of Witchcraft. Only later did it become known as Wicca.

That's ok because no matter what you are, you are only human. :) We all are and typing, spelling, and rearranged sentences are things that happen when you communicate with a keyboard. :)

Oh yeah, family drama can so get in your head! I know exactly what you mean. Family, we gotta love them...but sometimes we really wish they would take a long walk.
It actually is talked about. It comes up often in chat. You might want to chech it out. But you are right about authors and even media make that mistake. I spread that word myself that Wiccan and witch are not interchangeable. Glad you did get the right information. Continue with your studies. Blessed Be...
You know, Lark, I get argued with that not all Wiccans are witches. But the religion is has magick as part of the Wicca. I'm not understanding why people would say that. Not all witches are Wiccan, bit all Wiccan are witches. So I'm not getting some people's take on it. I was told once that its because they believe in the dualistic. I disagree, but keep my mouth shut when I see an argument is happening (in public chat).
I agree with you, Lark, about it. Anyway, correct info is out there, Ryuu66. Blessings...
Sorry Tombstone I dont have hours and hours to hang around chat to wait till it comes up. Ive been in chat quite often and it has never come up while I was there....
