Hello! I'm new to this site and I'm confused as to what my path would be. I wish to understand my path so I can follow it more fully. Any help would be appreciated! :)
Since I was a young girl, my mom has told me that I was a descendant of the faes from Ireland. And her grandmother told her the same. I believe it, but my question would be are faes allowed to use and practice the magic on this site? If not I would appreciate a nudge in the right direction. However, I also have always believed in the more "Christian" version of god and I guess this would conflict with spell casting? If anyone could help me find a way about this I would appreciate it. Thank you!

There are those who are on here that believe in God but are witches. What or who you believe in as your Diety is your choice, we do not discriminate here. :) They may just have different views then those who go to church.
I do not know anything on the Fae but there are those on this site that might. Your biggest help is to read the articles and search the forum post and after then ask questions. The more knowledgaeble appriciate the time in your research and are more apt to help you if you do this first. To many come on and come straight here posting questions that could have been answered in the article section. They want it spoon fed (without gathering the knowledge for themselves.) The adept and knowledgaeble appriciate the researching first and are more willing to give their knowledge to those who truly want it and are serious about it.
So first let's address the "descendant of the faes" thing we've got going on here to clarify exactly what that is. The Irish fairy folk are also known as the Aos Si and are in legend a supernatural race comprised of the Tuatha De Danann that retreated into the Otherworld to escape the Milesian invasion. As a result all Aos Si are now spiritual beings although there legends of the Tuatha De Danann are almost certainly based on real people and events so whilst one can not be a fae they can be descended from them. What a descendant of the fae of Ireland should mean is a descendant of the Tuatha De Danann however these events occurred so long ago in an era where records were not accurately kept so what it more likely means is simply someone who is of Irish blood. In either case the origins of your blood line do not restrict the type of magic you may practice in any way so don't worry about what you may be "allowed" to practice. If you are interested in following your ancestry though then you may be interested in exploring the Gaelic Celtic pantheons and practices somewhat.
As for the Christian aspect the only correct answer is your own. There are many Christians that practice magic there's even a coven here devoted to them. Equally though there are Christians that disagree with the practice of magic. The decision as to whether you faith permits the use of magic or not is your own.

Kisma K. Stepanich wrote 2 books on Feary Wicca you may want to check out if you feel that you want to explore it further. There are others out there it is just a matter of googling or going to ebay.

Actually Kisma Stepanich plagiarized several books on the Fae from a gentleman named R.J. Stewart. Her books were subsequently pulled from circulation by the publisher and she has published nothing since. She is not an author that I would recommend. But you might want to read some of R.J.Stewart's works if you are interested in the concepts of the Fae.

Thanks Lark I did not know that, I was looking through the books on ebay and looking through the forum and spotted both almost at the same time. I did not realize, since I do not follow that path, that that person took from another. Sorry for giving bad info.
The practice of magic its on your own; In Christianity magic its consider to be an act to worship that devil but doesn't explain its self, I do believe that mostly what Christianity says its true but I have my doubts. I consider myself a half Christian but I practice magic, Its your choice if want to practice it or not.

Many Christians will tell you that witchcraft is a sin and that you shouldn't study to become a "heritic". But I believe if you believe in the "god tht loves all" or whatever he will not mind you studying magic. But that's up to you to dicide. And I have studied many mythologies (mostly from ancient Greek, ancient Egyptian, and a few other very old beliefs) and the religion I go by allows me to believe these creatures exist on separate "dementional levels" and they are very rarely visible by humans so I don't believe that it's not likely you are connected to any creature beyond. So I wouldn't worried much about that
