Help please w/ Offerings By: changedcynic / Beginner

I'm trying to invoke Freyja in a spell of mine and I thought it would be prudent to give her an offering. I am planning on giving her honey and a folded paper heart. However, I have no idea what do do with the offerings. Do I mention that I have them during the spell, right after she's called, or after the spell is complete. What do I do with the things I'm offering. I can't consume the honey because that's not really the point of the sacrifice, and I can't spill it on the floor as I have to work in doors.
So how does it work, how do you dispose of an offering so that the god can enjoy it?
Ways to "dispose" of offerings range. Here are some general methods of giving an offering.
A physically handmade object can be left on the altar as an offering. It can also be kept in a small wooden box or jar, to store the offerings. Buring and burning the offerings also works.
As for liquid and food offerings you can leave these on the altar for a few days then take them outside and dispose of them, while being environmentally friendly.

I don't really have the luxury of an alter per say but after speaking with some people on chat I think I came up with a solution. I just used it by the way.
I invoked Freyja, then mentioned that I had somethings I wished to give her as offerings and asked her to guide me. Then I did my spell and asked for her blessing, thanked her and ended the ritual. I ended up going outside, smothering the paper heart in the honey and leaving it in my back yard. I told her that I had no idea how her followers did this in the old days but I wished to thank her for her time as best as I could. I would hope that Freyja will have just as much luck taking my offering from my backyard as from my beadroom (where I theoretically would have an alter).
This is the first time I've worked with a diety and I have to say that the last have hour was pretty surreal. When I called her into the circle I didn't even know if something would happen. Then I felt this presence. It felt inquisitive and curious, but it also made me feel like an ant. She's (if it was Freyja) was not hostile in the least but she was incredibly alien, I don't think I could understand the way she thinks and feels. Then her presence kind of receded when I was writing the runes but I noticed I made these sort of unconsious changes that made the script more aesthetically pleaseing. It sort of felt like going into a trance. At the end I asked my magic to perform my bidding and her presence became very obvious because it felt like an unmovable stone. Then when I asked for her aide, her presence started to flow upward somewhat.
Everything until the moment I gave my offering felt incredibly dream like. I hope these sensations are a sign that she at least heard me
I think you'll come to find that Norse deities are very active and aware deities. When working with other deities I always felt like they were "sleeping" or not really fully aware and "alive."
Norse divinity is simply amazing, for a lack of better words.
And that is interesting about your experiences with Freyja, I hope you have many more moments like that in the future.
