I have always wondered if there is something wrong with blending science and the worship of a deity. I do belive that there is some form of energy or thing that is a deity, like the Godess (and how you feel Her presense everywhere). But, I also belive that there is the scientific explanation for things, like how the Moon is not only the Godess' symbol, but it is also a giant space rock orbiting Earth. Is it okay to blend these ideas? And does anyone else do that? I am just confused about if it is a spiritual thing or a personal preferance.
I don't know of anyone who wouldn't agree the moon is a giant rock. In the end the things are entetertwined somewhat but something's can't be explained by science that what makes it faith.
blending science and worshiping deities is almost my whole practice. I know I cant be the only one who incorporates science to there practice. I believe in the god and goddess and that they can have affects on earth but I also know that the seasons change because of axis so to answer you questions
yes its okay to blend these ideas
and yes others do believe this
Sometimes I conceptualise science and esoterica as left brain vs right brain concepts. Yes of course you can play with both disciplines - however they probably (in a broad sense) utilize different parts of the brain. Some physicists such as Stephen Hawkings have begun to successfully weave some of these concepts together. His views on other dimensions and dark energy is fascinating and he admits that these have implications for experiences of shadow people and entities generally.
Actually, many early scientists often wrote that there work was not to disprove "god" but to prove his existence. Seperating the divine and science is a relatively new (probably within 200 years) concept. Most scientists like Galileo, Newton and Darwin all believed they were working to either understand the nature of the divine. Modern quantum physics is coming back to that same conclusion slowly.
A better question may be is it right for you to blend deity and science in your beliefs. If it is, then go for it.
Thanks for all of the tips! I was worried that it might have been wrong in some way, but since I am not the only one who does it I know that it's perfectly normal. I will say that good points have been made, and there are indeed some scientific facts that cannot be argued with. And I didn't know that most scientists started out trying to prove a deity's existance. That's interesting!
I see that the evidence for the hicks bosun is solidifying. I have been wondering about it in relation to the concept of The All from the Kybalion, or the concept of the crystal web.
theres no wrong in blending like herb healings its considered magic but any scientist can tell u teas are good for the body if it can be explained sure but some things cant be explain cuzz its simply out of mans will to hold that knowledge its perfecttly normal for that just dont let science question your faith
