What is a easy first step

Hell I am new to exploring druidry. I would like to know an easy first step into practicing it. Also what are the main principals of being a druid.

There's nothing "easy" or "simple" about Druidry, and I highly suggest you learn more before beginning to practice it. Since it is an ancient religion, we know very little about the social structure and actual beliefs of the Druids. It is impossible to just throw the "main beliefs" about Druidry, since it means something totally different to each modern Druid. Please conduct more research before jumping into such a complicated situation

No worries. It's just I want to make sure that you don't make assumptions about it, because it's very complicated. Of course it's okay to follow your own belief system, but calling something that comes from you Druidry would probably not be a great idea.

Good luck in your studies!

Thank you for the positive thoughts and I do try to learn everything I can. It's just where I live there aren't many sources on paganism or witchcraft and I have yet to see one book on druidry. I have come to the conclusion that I will have to turn to those who truely study it if I wish to have any reliable information.

There are tons of books out there for those who study druidery. Also the OBOD and ADF are only 25.00 a year. and they are both great places to learn with lots of helpful folks.

A good source for books is http://www.llewellyn.com/

I have two books that I haven't read yet, so I don't endorse them but they are on subject:

Druid Magic by Maya Magee Sutton, Ph.D. & Nicholas R. Mann
The Celtic Golden Dawn by John Michael Greer

A website I found that you might find interesting:

From what I have read of 'Celtic Golden Dawn' it's a good book, especially compared with some of the other books I have picked up on Celtic magic.
I know that the introductory meditations and rituals in that book are good, and was about to recommend them to you myself since its the first few steps that you seem to be looking for. The book generally follows the papers that an initiate into the golden dawn would receive, but with the focus shifted from Hebrew to Celtic.
There is an adapted version of the LBRP and cross of light in the book, along with the more unique meditation assignments. I think its an especially good read for a beginner because Greer presents a system that is recognisable to magicians of other paths, which means you will have little trouble in adapting his rituals to other forms of ceremonial magic you may find in the future. However, having not read the rest of the book yet I don't know how good the rest of the material is, and it may not be what you are looking for it you wanted a more shamanic approach to Druidism.
