If you simply treat the psalms as though they where incantations. The bible can become a powerful tool of magick. Simply add a magick circle and some white candle and them recite psalm 69. Right there you have a protection spell right out of the bible.

It also works with the other psalms. Supposedly saying them in latin would increase potency, but I just recite thrm in English

That's a great idea, I've been looking for a protection spell and a way to do magic and be part of the bible at the same time. Thanks.

The Bible has been used in magical workings for a long time, this is not something new. Kabbalah practices and Hoodoo/Conjure works have used parts of the Bible as sources of power and instruction *long before* the invention of Wicca.

It is not just in Psalms or limited to the Old Testament either. Things can be found throughout the Bible. Here is a good article and starting point for those wanting to go through their Bible for potential works:

In regards to your work, there are no circles casted in hoodoo (or Christian Folk Magic as Connie calls it :P), so the addition of this is very unnecessary, especially since you claim the work is already for protection.

I'd go with a cleansing of the entire home and self (family if you can do that), call in the good, then I'd do a work for protection.

Psalm 69 I'd personally not use for protection. I can see this as a prayer for deliverance from your enemies, but nothing about this Psalm screams PROTECTION.

Also, saying them in Latin does nothing, especially since we can not know for certain how the language was officially spoken. We can only guess for academic purposes.

Correcting information you gave as fact and pointing out that it is, instead, opinion is not talking down to you.

I'm sure we're all glad that you use a circle to cast before reciting psalms, as would make sense given your choice or spiritual titles. However, it is not a necessary step to working with the bible, just as Psalms is not the only book to use.

Information was provided to help anyone who reads this thread so they have more to research upon.

Voo helped, not "spoke down to".

Perhaps you should check your level of defensiveness. :)
