Carve & petition, Protect

Hi
I'm new to this & still learning. Is it possible if I want to do candle spell for my friend to help her find the right guy? She has been single for a long time & I feel really bad coz she never success in relationship.
When I carve her name or write petition. Do I have to write all details or just something short, simple & easy?
What candles color should I use for her?
Do I still have to have a good amulets or protection before do any magic spell even though your intention are all good & never harm anybody???

To answer your second question, I've always found it helpful to have protection whenever casting. No telling what might be lurking around even with a good spell.

As for the love candle spell, one simple way to do it is take a pink or white candle (red for love spells is lust and I don't recommend it unless looking for a one-night stand) and carve her name on one side. On the opposite side, write dream love, new love, etc. I'd place the petition underneath the candle to let the droppings fall upon it perhaps with some romancing herbs such as rosemary or lavender for a small offering. Hope that helps.
