I really worked with them, but I do remember seeing one once.
There are many methods of honoring them, such as shrines and gifts (such as biscuits or cookies).
There are many different types of fae, whether they are friendly or malevolent. Its up to you to decide whether they are trustworthy or not.
I've worked with fairies before, specifically merrows and selkies. They have helped me out with my water and weather-related magics. In return, I offer them honey and things from the beach that I find. I can't speak for all of the fae, but the ones that I've worked with have generally been helpful, although sometimes impatient.
Fey just make their way to me sometimes. It's like they're attracted to me. Something to watch out for is, what they say to you. They have the ability to lie, but in my experience, they don't lie so much as they say things in a way that you can easily misinterpret.
Do any of you guys work with them? If so, what do you work on together?
i do not work with them, but i have seen/spoken with them because they would hang in my garden in my old house. i also had an old covenmate who practiced fae wicca. faeries have different elements and therefore different strengths and weaknesses. earth faeries are probably the ones you'll meet. faeries can randomly bless or curse people depending on their actions [kind of like karma that way. if they see you being charitable, they can bless you, if you're selfish they can make your life miserable.]
How do you honor the fae?
well different ones like different things, but a fae garden with sweet smelling flowers, bright colourful decorations, and wind chimes are a good start. they love saffron and sweets, so planting saffron, or baking cakes with saffron is the best type of offering [i have read they get offended if the cake has imperfections or marks from a fork if you checked if it was done, so bake two loafs] i've given them milk and honey, tea with a lot of sugar, and candies as offerings when i was in my garden, or outside all day. [side note they like people who aren't selfish, so if you have a fruit tree, leave some behind, like if some falls on the ground, leave it]
What are most fae like?
the ones i've met are shy at first, but they're like Tinkerbell from Peter Pan [the original play, not this faerie franchise] if they like you they're your best friend, but if they don't watch out. the one's i've met are nice, but i'm nice to them. my one friend was bugging one once and it got mad at her [nothing too bad happened, but she did sprang her ankle a few minutes after upsetting the fae] don't be demanding, or pester them, if you're friendly, they typically are nice back.
