Spells require energy so if you need it try this sit up with back straight then take 3 deep breaths then start to breath regularly now visualize a big ball of energy in your brain see energy flow through your body from that big ball. Its normal for head to throb

Have you considered doing something similar with jewelry/clothing? Or even your car keys? Or even getting a tattoo to do the same thing? It can make things a bit easier without having to worry about subtle energy negatively effecting your body, as these things are "separated" from yourself. (Tattoos are ink locked into dead skin.)

I have never considered that

*nods* Sometimes it can be helpful to keep things separated too, as with certain entities/people they will drain you in an aggressive manner so that implanting a curse is easier done (as you'll not necessarily have the power of protection as you would normally). If they drain you and your "energy battery" is inside your body, they'll have it too. If it's a separate item, they are less likely to notice it and to drain it.
