What is?

What is vodou? Can anyone give me a basic discription of it?

Vodou is a Haitian religion derived from African Vudun, it became syncretized with the Catholic Church and many factors when the slaves brought the religion to Haiti. The religion is monotheistic unlike many believe, the belief is of one supreme, omnipotent creator Bondye and the Lwa who are emissaries and messengers to him. You can see it in the point of the Catholic Church, where there is God and the Saints; Bondye and the Lwa. We serve and work with the Lwa for the bettering of ourselves as individuals as well as in life, they guide us in our path in a matter of speaking. There is a magical system interwined with Vodou, however it does not form the bases of Vodou as many believe. There is much more to Vodou but this is to give you a simple overview to the religion.

What I referred to was that a religion cannot be fully described in a single paragraph; asking a general statement cannot help me give you a good written reply, if you asked what you would specifically like to know then I will be able to assist you better.

how do you worship? what is lwa? what are some traditions? what kind of magick is used and when is it necessary? how do you honor lwa for the blessngs that are given? what are the pros and cons of it? what are some risks? what are the deepest and darkest parts of the religion? what are the best? are there "angels" and "demons"?
i am highly interested in it because i am looking into following it fits. lately i have been trying to find my way.
