I have heard a lot of people saying when we astral travel, our astral bodies-with consiousness seperating from the physical ones..while others that only our consiousness seperates. Personally, I hope we have astral bodies.
But what do you think the truth is? And from the experiences you had? Also I have one more question: If we didn't have astral bodies, how would other entities be able to see us, touch us, sense us, or even kill us there??
1- Yes we have one
2-You can not kill something that isn't truly matter. Like you can only banish a spirt. Thats why they cant and don't. Keep in mind that it dose not keep them from trying.
I also believe it is just your soul.
My Grandmother always said, "you are a spirit with a body, not a body with a spirit". Call it your spirit, your soul, your energy field, your aura, your astral body, its all just different names for the same thing. There are a great many people that believe humans astral travel in their dreams, aside from that you can learn to astral travel, I would suggest starting with daily meditation.
The astral body is a subtle body posited by many philosophers, intermediate between the intelligent soul and the mental body, composed of a subtle material. [1] The concept ultimately derives from the philosophy of Plato: it is related to an astral plane, which consists of the planetary heavens of astrology. The term was adopted by nineteenth-century Theosophists and neo-Rosicrucians.
The idea is rooted in common worldwide religious accounts of the afterlife [2] in which the soul's journey or "ascent" is described in such terms as "an ecstatic.., mystical or out-of body experience, wherein the spiritual traveller leaves the physical body and travels in his/her subtle body (or dreambody or astral body) into higher realms". [3] Hence "the "many kinds of 'heavens', 'hells' and purgatorial existences believed in by followers of innumerable religions" may also be understood as astral phenomena, as may the various "phenomena of the séance room". [4] The phenomenon of apparitional experience is therefore related, as is made explicit in Cicero's Dream of Scipio.
The astral body is sometimes said to be visible as an aura of swirling colours. [5] It is widely linked today with out-of-body experiences or astral projection. Where this refers to a supposed movement around the real world, as in Muldoon and Carrington's book The Projection of the Astral Body, it conforms to Madame Blavatsky's usage of the term. Elsewhere this latter is termed "etheric", while "astral" denotes an experience of dream-symbols, archetypes, memories, spiritual beings and visionary landscapes.
The way I view it the astral body is one's spirit or soul in which one may leave their physical body when entering into astral projection. Other people have different views, just my thoughts.
Yes we have, while you asleep or conscious you can astral project. It happened to me but when I was starting to move my astral body I became paralized and know that it was my end but when I calmed my self I'm awakened and scared,it was my first astral projection...
For those of you who can perform astral projection: If I put a secret word, number, symbol, or picture on a small piece of paper and tape it to your forehead face up without you seeing it before you engage in astral projection, will you be able to tell me what it is when you wake up by looking at it as your astral self returns to your body?
