Scrying is an ancient form of divination, used to see parts of the past, present, or future and can be used to communicate with spiritual entities among other things. There are many ways to scry, some of these ways are crystal ball scrying, scrying with a mirror, cloud scrying, fire scrying, and pond/lake scrying.
How do you like to scry, if you do? Do you have any knowledge you would like to share on any of the different ways to scry, whether mentioned above or not? If you do scry, how did you develop those skills? What exercises have helped you to scry?
If you have not used scrying, is there anything that interests you about it or is there anything that you would like to try regarding scrying?

Alright so for me I cloud scry mainly. I have a pretty sweet set up in my tiny living room. It's my sacred space or Batcave if you will. Ajacent to my altar is a small twin size bed. Behind it is a sliding glass door with my plants in front. Above the bed you can see three sky lights as you lay there. Now that you have that lovely imagery painted for you--- My first time cloud scrying was an accident. I had no idea there was any other form of scrying other than using a crystal ball. I had very little knowledge on scrying at the time.
I was laying back and saw a man on a horse riding through the clouds. It wasn't like a straight line but full on the dude on the horse swaying back and forth bucking up and down. The horse actually picked up it's hooves running not like a straight glide across. Yeah, I think I have mentioned this before but it is relevant to this topic so I will mention it again. It still amazes me because even after I rubbed my eyes I still kept seeing it and I knew I was awake. I googled what the heck was happening and cloud scrying is in fact a legit thing. Moreover, ancient Greeks actually did so. They saw entire battles play out in the clouds from what I had read. So just like Pyromancy from which the root word, "pyr" is Greek...both practices have some Greek roots I can trace back which very much excite me.
I have a silver hand mirrot which is beautiful I got at the dollar store. I painted the mirror part black. I have yet to use it because I would first like to anoint it as I like marking things with my energy and personal touch. I have also ideas for using this mirror to reflect curses/hexes, and other bad energy. So I consider it to be a multipurpose tool. When I figure out what I want to anoint this with and have charged it under the full moon I will update this thread. I will also inform you guys how my first mirror scrying session goes more than likely.
The third form of scrying I want to try my hand at is water scrying. I want to use spring water I charged into moon water with a little essential oil and a few drops of black dye. I will update this thread with my exact recipe including exact measurements when I have it all figured out. For both mirror and water scrying I suggest a black base and using reflected candle light. You can carve like runes or letters into the candle to help channel what it is you are hoping to see also using familuar scents and a touch of sympathetic magick color association.
Last one I would like to try but it is at the very bottom of my list is fire gazing. The reason being I would want a large enough fire which would be in a decent sized cauldrin. If I do it inside of my tiny apartment it will set off the smoke detectors and more fire means more likely to catch fire. If I do it on the balcony a neibor might see and complain because you know there are always those nosey bitches who like to ruin things for other people. You could argue I could go to like a park or forest. If I do it at the park other people there will prolly throw a hissy fit too or think I am weird and make me uncomfortable. I am very opened about my beliefs but I also don't feel like getting the generic, "hey freak it's not Halloween!" or them calling the cops or some shit. A forest might do the trick but that's a bit of a drive for me so it wouldn't happen very often. At first I only wanted a tiny cauldrin for offerings burnt in an Ouranic fashion. But dude when I do fire gaze I can throw so many herbs in it Amazon style!! :o
Okay I lied there is one more...crystal ball. Yeah, generic choice I know and pretty low on my list. I would like a rose quartz ball and an obsidian one. Obsidian because black surfaces good for scrying, mmkay? Rose quartz because I have a mild obsession with rose quartz. I have a rose quartz bracelet and heart stone too! I also saw some pretty dope green ones though. Hey did you know it can be spelled skrying too?? I think it looked pretty weird that way but it's every bit as legit. It is only strange to me because I have only ever seen two people ever spell it that way.
