Spiritual Calling.

Hello everybody!

So for many years I have had an absolute interest in Aphrodite the greek goddess of love and beauty. I always find my self looking at artwork of her, reading and re-reading myths, stories and poetry about her and dedicating artwork towards her arche-type. I never considered following a path that included worshiping and honouring Aphrodite - it had never really even crossed my mind, and I don't really know what has been causing my extreme interest in the Goddess, could this be a calling? I guess in a way I sort of am already acknowledging her as I write this and honouring her through the artworks I have created. How can I begin to work with her and communicate because I have never really worked with a deity in my craft before and I don't know where to begin. I already know a really huge amount about Aphrodite due to constantly being drawn to her and researching her, but I would love to form a personal connection with Aphrodite this time.

It is entirely possible, even probable that you are being called to by Aphrodite. It may even be possible that she has given a gift to you in on form or another.

Oh my, this is such a beeatiful story, I myself have also been attracted to Aphrodite for a while.

You can do a small ritual honoring her, you can provide offerings such as roses, chocolate, perfume.

You can also make a bottle with a few ingredients and provide it as an offering.

You can say a prayer or poem to her (it can be about her or thanking her for anything) she will appreciate your devotion to her.

You can also create an altar devoted to her with many things associated with her, like red/pink candles, flowers (roses, daisies) or even foods like apples, chocolate, or cherries.

Of course it's a calling, there are also many different types of this type of calling out... I've had the same in Kali but I've been called upon by others in different types of callings, like obssessions with them for example. It seems to me Aphrodity is trying to get your attention.

If you think She is calling you, you should definetly look into working with Her!!

I've only been working with Aphrodite for almost two years, and She's been such an important figure in my life. For me She stands and is involved in a lot of areas in my life, especially self love and acceptance which I think is imprtant for everyone.

When I started to work with Her (this was after doing research and having felt a calling for several months), I lit a candle, gave Her some offerings, and introduced myself. It can be as simple or as complex as you want. There are definetly more traditional ways of doing offerings but a lot of modern Hellenic Polytheists, Hellenists, anyone who works with Greek Gods, have different ways of doing it.

You can look into some hymns associated with Her, make your own, write something to Her and burn it if you wish, there's a lot of ways to communicate, pray and give offerings. It's totally up to you, do whatever feels right. In my experience She will love any attention you give Her.
