Pendulum crafting help?

I recently purchased a crystal and a faux feather (I also have a collection of beads and strings), and I'm hoping to craft them into a pendulum. I want the crystal to be the lowest hanging object on the necklace, however I want the feather to be visible as well... but the feather is longer than the crystal. How should I hang and arrange them together? I don't exactly want to use the feather as a weight on the back... Any ideas?

You could use the feather as decoration on the other end of the chain/string, if that works for you. I'm not sure if you want both the crystal and the feather to act as weights or just the crystal, but if it's the former, maybe my idea can help.

But I just re read that last bit where you said you don't want to exactly use the feather as a weight on the back (I assume is on the other end of the string). This would be complicated because the feather would very much interfere with the pendulum's movement.

I suppose I could make them two separate necklaces... Does anyone else have any ideas on how I could decorate the pendulum with a feather?
