Yuletide Greetings

Happy Yule, everyone! This is my first celebration of the holidays as a witch and I'm so excited. What are your traditions? I'll be making my own, since I'll be celebrating alone, but I'm still very happy to participate.

Merry Yule to you as well.

My celebrations have changed over the years, I use to have friends over but we've all moved away I don't have many close friends with similar spiritual views. This year I do my normal cleanse/protect my house, and I make a fancy dinner for my fiance and I. I have a circle at noon [use to be at midnight] and another one at sunset with the greeting of the sun at sunrise the next day [and exchanging any gifts I might have. Gifts are really the main focus of the holiday but I keep my eye out for one or two things for my fiance and he does the same, most of my gifts are from my Christian family members who celebrate Christmas. I send them home made chocolates every year. I feel it's nicer than hunting down 'the perfect gift' but again, if I find something they'll like I get it]

Also, as with any Sabbat I keep candles and incense lit on my permanent altar all day if possible [obviously if I have to go out I'll snuff them out]

I do try to meditate and cast spells if needed but otherwise I watch Holiday movies and relax [like muppet family Christmas and Practical Magic because best of both worlds lol] I was actually about to watch the Aggretsuko Christmas special [love that little red panda]

Happy Yule to you, this is my first as well and looking forward to a Yule dinner with a good friend. We plan on making vegan tamales, wassail, desserts, and I am bringing crafts for her daughters so we can make it a memorable Yule celebration. Hopefully this turns into a tradition adding on as the years go by and adding more folks to celebrate with us!
