Birthday Traditions

Hello all! My birthday is coming up and I just wanted to know what your magick traditions are on your special days! I read that it's a good day for personal power, and I hate my birthday, I'm hoping this will give me something to look forward to. Thanks and blessed be!

My mother started this one with me.
She would take me to the beach on my birthday in the morning and we would look for smooth black rocks. I would be given a cupcake and sparklers to enjoy.
We collected the amount needed to represent each year since my birth.
Then with a marker I would write my wishes and wants.
Wishes for things or wants would be thrown back into the water for the ocean to carry.
Wishes for others would be placed on the paths where I walked so that people could find them.
Wishes for family would be brought home and placed in the garden.
The wish I kept for myself would be placed in the hearth.
