is it a good idea to make a wand out of a crows feather? I've heard they are linked to psychic enhancement, and represent mystery and intrigue. I put purple thread around the base to make a "handle", and obviously the purple will help with psychic energy as well.

do you think this is a good choice for a wand? I know its unconventional to use a material other than wood, but I've always felt connected to crows. please let me know your thoughts!

The only issue I find with using just the feather as a wand is that it will eventually decompose over time. Feathers are mostly keratin, which is the same material as your hair and nails. Consistent use and exposure to different temperatures, climates, and even bacteria will ultimately change the appearance and stability of the feather, and will render it useless at some point. If you want to prolong the inevitable, my advice would be to attach the feather to a wooden rod (stick, piece of carved wood, etc.) in some way. Tie it, weave it with leather strips, whatever (I probably wouldn't glue it, personally), and replace it when it's time.

Another consideration is its symbolism and significance among Indigenous American communities. I know that various bird feathers are used in Smudging and other rituals for some tribes. Not just that, but they're also used in certain ceremonial clothing and for other ritualistic tools. Some folks might see it as distasteful to use the feather as just a wand if you're not part of a tribe or initiated into their cultural practices.
