Light and Dark

Is it harmful for a person to stay in the light all the time?

I was constantly praying for light and after praying I realized that most people's clothing style, thoughts and life were primitive.
I went to the bookstore and saw a lot of books with a snake theme. I don't know what it means but it reminded me of Lilith.
I read a prayer about Lilith and my surroundings became dark.
Do you think darkness and light should be in balance? Is light a person deceiving himself?
I am waiting for your opinions.

Merry Meet

It is a balance. Focusing too much on one or the other will have negative consequences. Think of all the wonderful things that happen at night. Are they harmful simply because they are in the dark? Think of nature. A storm might tear down trees, but new life grows from the destruction. If you refuse to acknowledge any darkness, it will do harm.

Have you heard of shadow work? The shadow was coined by Carl Jung as the hidden subconscious realm where we suppress what we refuse to accept. This could be major trauma and pain, but this could also be your confidence because you were told you were too loud by adults. By integrating your shadow, by bringing it into the light, you learn to love yourself deeper than before, and gain more power than you ever thought possible. On the other extreme, focusing only on healing and shadow work can be harmful. You body needs rest. You need time to integrate those things you discovered.

This brings us back to balance. Light and dark. Positive and negative. Good and bad. They are bot because nature is both. Just because you follow a love and light path, does not mean you are superior to someone who follows a left hand path. Someone who follows a left hand path isn't automatically depressed, demonic and evil. Someone who follows love and light is not always sunshine and rainbows. It is both.

Blessed Be.

Some people believe in a balance others believe in one or another. I've seen some people do good things with the use of demons and some do what I consider negative things using angels. I have also seen good christians act in ways contradictory to their path doing evil things and followers of the left hand path, doing nice things. I don't believe in deities being either dark or light, they are helping. personal thought.
Whether a person is deceiving him/herself, perhaps they are, but many devout people get along just fine. Is the pope deceiving himself, maybe.

Absolutely both should be in balance.
Nuture the light and embrace the dark.
Polarity effect. One cannot exist without the other. Just think, how can you appreciate the beautiful sunrise that starts to light up the earth, had there been no darkness.

In both the light and the dark you are blind.
In the light, blindness comes with overexposure.
In the dark, blindness is only temporary before your vision adjusts.

Even then, the light shows us clearly what is around us.
Darkness only gives us an idea, even when we see through it.

One is deceptive.
One is unyielding.
Both are necessary.
Because the Truth lies somewhere in the middle of the two.

Even Lucifer, the most beautiful and rebellious of God's angels, appears as an Angel of Light.

As someone who has been doing a ton of shadow work, it's both. A shadow doesn't exist without light. We can't survive in darkness. The problem is when someone focuses too much on one. There are times when you have to trust faith and keep hopeful, and there are times when you have to admit a situation is bad, not to wallow, but to feel those feelings and let them pass [otherwise they get trapped in your body and it'll take longer to heal]

Honestly, it's less about light and dark and more about healing. I know people from many paths [Christian witch, Satanists, Heathens, Kemetic, Hellenistic, atheist] and the ultimate lesson is not what they believe, it's how that affects their life. Angels and demons can both aid you in healing, shadow work, and spellcasting/manifestation [funny enough, angels are more intense than demons] but it doesn't matter who you call on if you're not applying what you've learned to your life. The ego is the biggest cause of harm. [Ego in the sense of who you think you are and wants to keep you safe, not "I'm the best and if you don't agree, you're a hater" egotistical, thought that too in a way. It's less confidence and more they can't admit reality because it'll cause an ego death and they'll have to admit to reality] How do we heal this? Shadow work and integration. How do we do shadow work? By shining a light on the parts we keep in the dark.

When people argue binary in the craft, they're missing the point. The seasons don't argue which is the default best one [*cough* autumn *cough*] we need them all for their specific amount of time so we can grow and rest [Spring you plant your intentions for the year, summer they grow as you work toward them, autumn you harvest what you worked hard for, winter you rest and reflect before starting again] We literally just passed Litha [Yule in the Southern Hemisphere] It marks the first day of summer, but also the point where winter starts to creep back in [there's even the tale of the Oak King and Holly King doing battle to rule. The Oak King rules from Yule to Litha, and the Holly King is Litha to Yule] there are positives and negatives to both.

I've never worked with Lilith, but I have worked with "dark Goddesses" and they're only "dark" because they give tough love. I've been called out by my Goddess on more than one occasion, but she's not being mean. Sometimes you need someone to yell at you "Sit down, stop doing that because it's harmful and do this because it'll help you in the long run!" and most people can't handle this type of advice from a deity, so they run away crying. [also, Christianity demonized a lot of deities they couldn't get people to stop worshipping, as well as draw parallels with Christianity to understand others religions. It's why Hades is seen as the devil when he was more of an office worker who kept to himself, but he lives underground with dead people. Obviously he's the bad guy] My goddess is like Okoye in Black Panther. She's not evil or cruel, but she will call you out. I've told people about my interactions with her when I've disappointed her and they're worried, but it's simply because they don't like how tough she can be. Let's say she tells me to get back in shape, and I make excuses not to. As a result, my body starts hurting and I'm forced to drag my sore bones to the gym and suffer through a workout. I ask her for healing and she'll reply with "I told you to go to the gym, this is what happens, so no, I'm not helping you." [That's "the find" out portion of the formula] All "dark Goddesses" have the same interaction. "Do this thing.... You won't? Fine... No, I'm not helping you dig yourself out of this. Show me I won't waste my energy."

I would definitely research the deity and be respectful, but the more you work with them, the closer you'll become and the next thing you know, you're dancing to TLC in your living room because you noticed they really like a specific song and dancing is a way to honor them. [that would be UPG, but I'd love to know what music your deities like. Some are obvious, but others will throw you for a loop] I've also noticed the closer you get with a deity, you'll surround yourself with stuff they like. Most people [myself included] honour their deity by how they choose to live. Lilith likes black? Don't be surprised if your wardrobe reflects her style. You'll also hold yourself in a way that exudes her energy. Like with the music above, you might notice you'll enjoy hobbies and items associated with them.
