This spell, which is cast to help those lucky people who have two loves in their lives to make their minds up about which to settle with, takes some time to come to bloom.

Casting Instructions for 'The Hyacinth Spell'

You will need the following items for this spell:

  • Two hyacinth bulbs
  • A new pin
  • Two flowerpots
  • Potting compost

Scratch the initials of one love on the first bulb and the initials of the other person on the second one. If perchance they have the same initials, then add the second letter of their first name.

Plant the bulbs, saying as you do:

''As these flowers grow and grow
Reveal to me what I should know.
And it harm none, so be it.''

Remember which pot bears what name and put them in a dark place. The on that flowers first is the one to choose.
