So I have been reading "Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner" by Scott Cunningham. He was talking about the Wiccan God and Goddess and I felt that he really summed it up quite nicely and figured I would share.
The Goddess:
She is basically the universal mother. She is the maiden, the mother and the crone. She signifies fertility, never ending wisdom as well as love. She is symbolized my the waxing, full and waning moons. She is the unploughed field, the full harvest and the frosted Earth. She is nature. She is the moon, the rolling waves of the sea, and the forever green of fresh spring. She is fertility and love incarnate.
Some symbols that Wiccans use to honor her are cauldrons, cups, five-petaled flowers, mirrors, necklaces, seashells, pearls, emeralds and much more. She is the rabbit, the bear, owl, the cat, the dolphin, the lion, horse, the spider and the bee. She has been depicted as the huntress, and "the eternal mother heavy with child." She is the spinster of our lives and our deaths. She is the omnipresent, the changeless and eternal.
The God:
The god has been respected for many years. But he is not the strict god of the Christianity or Judaism. He is the consort of the goddess. Her equal. He is the blistering sun, rising and setting with each day that governs our lives. With out the sun humanity would not exist, that is why he was been revered as the source of life, warmth that helps the Earth start to green after the coldest winter. He is also the tender to wild animals. He can be depicted as the Horned God. His domains include the forests that have not been touched by humanity, the blistering deserts and the towering mountains. He is the fully ripened harvest, the freshly pressed grapes turned to wine. The apples hanging from the trees and the golden grains ready for harvest. "With the goddess he also celebrates and rules sex. The Wicca don't avoid sex or speak of it in hushed words. It is a part of nature and is accepted as such. It is thought to be sacred. The God lustily imbues us with the urge that ensures our species biological future."
Symbols that Wiccans use to honor him are the sword, horns, spear, candle, gold, diamond, arrows, the knife, and many more. The creatures that are sacred to him are the bull, dog, snake, dragon, wolf, eagle, falcon, and many more.
The god is the "Sky Father" where as the Goddess is the "Earth Mother." He unites with the Goddess sending the rain to spread seed among the Earth. He is celebrating her fertility.
If anybody wants to add something please do. I hope you find this useful.
