Honey has been a delicacy among people for thousands of years. Although honey is prized for its ability to sweeten tea, drizzle over warm muffins, biscuits or even toast or mix it in recipes in lieu of sugar there are in fact many uses for honey that go far beyond its culinary delights.
Pamper Yourself: Honey has moisturizing qualities that make it helpful in the beauty department. For example you can use it to:
Shine & condition your hair: Add 1 teaspoon of honey to a half cup of warm milk & mix well. Then simply apply all over the hair from the roots to the tips & then rinse with shampoo afterwards. Not only does it make your hair more smoother & manageable but it'll also soothe dry scalp.
Wash your face with it: Put a dab of honey in the palm of your hand and add a little warm water, massage the slightly diluted honey on your face. Then rinse with lukewarm water & enjoy a clean & moisturized complexion Note: straight honey also makes a great facial mask to add moisture to dry/windburned skin. Just leave it on for about 20 minutes while you relax then rinse.
Take a bath in it: Add 3 tablespoons of honey & 2 tablespoons of olive oil to your bath water & soak your troubles away. You'll emerge with soft, conditioned skin that smell good. You can also combine this with milk for a soothing beauty bath.
Soothe chapped lips: First mix a little brown sugar with some olive oil & use it to scrub lips which will help exfoliate any flakes of skin. Next mix a teaspoon of plain yogurt with a half teaspoon of honey. Spread over lips let sit 5 minutes then rinse with a warm washcloth pat dry & smoothe on super emollient lip balm.
Heal yourself: Honey also has medicinal qualities
Clean & treat (minor) cuts/scrapes: Honey is naturally microbial which is why it lasts forever. After washing the area, simply apply some honey straight from the jar using a clean implement & cover it with a bandage. Its a natural antibiotic ointment.
Fight Insomnia: There's a type of insomnia called early waking, which is where you don't have trouble falling asleep, but you wake up after a few hours and are unable to get back to sleep.A teaspoon of honey with a sprinkling of salt will help reset the stress hormones cortisol and adrenalin that keeps you awake.
Treat Acne: Dab some honey on the pimple & let it sit for 30 minutes rinse off & repeat the next day.
Relieve Anxiety: Honey has been used for ages in India to soothe nervousness so whether you add a little to some chamomile tea (this is also good for anxiety) or mix a little w/some lemon juice & a little minced ginger honey will help calm you & work especially well when your nerves are affecting your stomach.
Treat Mosquito Bites: Dan a little on a mosquito bite to reduce itch & irritation as well as to help prevent infections.
Soothe Cough: Honey works as well as many over-the-counter cough medicines to soothe and quiet a cough. You can take it straight or mix it with a little lemon juice and coconut oil, for an even more effective cough quieter.

Honey is indeed a very helpful substance. Not only for the physical benefits mentioned in this nicely written article, but also as a symbol of abundance, health, and positive intentions.
