A little help
By:
Years ago I went to a holistic convention. There was a Shaman seminar, so I decided to go. The woman put on a drum beat and we did some breathing excersises.

I went into a trance, and everyone else went about the seminar lol.

An hour later I came out of it, but in the trace, the visions I had were amazing.

I have never been able to meditate. My mind races to everything under the sun, and the most music either puts me into a deep sleep or I astral project. I don't mind the astral to much, but it's not what I am trying to achieve.

I don't know that I will go into a trance again, but I'd like to try.
Does anyone know of any drum beats I can dl? Pure drum beats, no chanting or side instruments involved.

My google searching left me empty handed. :/

Hmmm... I'm drawing a blank here too. I do however, have an unconventional suggestion that may help.
In the infant section of your local department store you should be able to find a teddy bear (lol) or maybe something else that is probably called heart sounds or something of the sort. The idea is the device makes the sound of a human heartbeat the way a newborn would hear it in the womb. This may be useful. Just an idea. I suppose you may be able to find a download as such, but it would need to be fairly long, as I'm afraid the break in looping may serve as a distraction. Again, just an idea.

Lol. I guess a newborn wouldn't be in a womb, but you get the idea, I hope.

I have a little one, so I understand and know of the bear lol.

I will try that.
Meditation is so disgustingly difficult for me, I'm willing to try almost anything really.

I understand. My mind is always a trap for useless happenings, when all I need is for it to shut up. Lol. I hope this helps. It was honestly the first thing I thought of. I don't even have children. Lol.

Get yourself a set of bongo drums, or even better, find a couple of friends and make a drumming circle, trust me when i say it is worth it and you will have a much greater result than with any prerecorded beats ;)

Some people (including me and obviously you) meditate more comfortably with certain music playing. Don't know about you, but it always feel as if the music 'absorbs' any stray thoughts I might have had... Earphones can be used to completely block out any city racket and just works better in general.

What you listen to is pretty important (don't expect to reach any higher conscious to screamo or something similarly agitating).
A great example of usable material (which Kao introduced to me), is Dead can Dance. I suspect it's the formation and combination of rhythms, drums among several, that makes it an attribute rather than nuisance when meditating.
Well, this is only if you can't go John Dolmayan on your own bongo drum set, of course :).
