It is a form of magic practiced by the Picts, the early Celtic inhabitants of Scotland. It differs from many other forms of Wicca in that it does not have a high emphasis on rituals or deity worship. However, the followers of this particular religion placed a high value on healing, herbalism, folk magic and divination. It was closely related to the hedge witchcraft of Europe.

It is a solitary form of witchcraft that was mainly practiced in the Scottish Highlands.


I came across this in "The Witch Book: The Encyclopedia of Witchcraft, Wicca, and Neo-Paganism."

I thought it was an interesting read, as it is something that, until reading it in the book, I had never heard of before.
