Since we haven't done a goddess link on here in a while, here's a link to information about the Goddess Brigid. Who is also known as Saint Bride, Brigit, and Brighid. In general she is a celtic goddess who was born of the Dagda, and her name meant exalted one. She is a classic example of the triple goddess.

In her English translation of Irish myth, Lady Augusta Gregory (Gods and Fighting Men, 1904), describes Brigit as "a woman of poetry, and poets worshipped her, for her sway was very great and very noble. And she was a woman of healing along with that, and a woman of smith's work, and it was she first made the whistle for calling one to another through the night. And the one side of her face was ugly, but the other side was very comely. And the meaning of her name was Breo-saighit, a fiery arrow."

Obviously it's a bit late now but planning ahead I gather a few stalks of corn or wheat at Lughnasadh and tie them into a cross shape. I then dress the wheat cross with white lace and red ribbons to make a biddy (Bride doll). The old one is burnt each year at Lughnasadh when the new one is cut, so there's a nice dying/ressurecting theme.
