Being able to do a spell.

I just read in a spell that to do spells and magic, you have to become a witch or wizard. Is this true?

Anyone can cast spells if they know how. Certain people that cast spells are witches or wizards or call themselves that, it's all about how think of yourself. Witchcraft is an art, a witch is someone who practices that art. When I think of a witch I think of someone that practices magic but not necessarily a magic related religion like Wicca, Shamanism, Druidism, and so on.

exactly what Altered said. if you wish to call yourself a Witch or Wizard, do so, but anyone can cast a spell. it's about energy, visualization and focus. you can do that, you can cast a spell. of course it's more complicated, you need to cast a circle, use a working spell, work to achieve your goal, but basically, it's those three things.
