Hello! I'm new here. Anyone here can teach the basics? like meditations, how the energy works, and anything before using spells?

Thank the Goddess! Someone who gets it! Oh, my dear dear brother, thank you for actually having done the research before asking that question. You are going to get along amazingly on here.

Unfortunately I cannot teach you directly. But if you want to learn the basics, I suggest 'Scott Cunningham's Book of Shadows' and 'The Inner Temple of Witchcraft' by Christopher Penczak. These are the 2 books I start all beginners on. The Penczak book is set up like a micro college course and covers history, meditation, energy work, and some basic spellcasting. The Cunningham book covers some basic meditations, gems, herbs, incenses, and spells.

If you are in a situation like me where you don't want to be toting these books around the house and you have a smartphone or a laptop, these books are available on all e-reader softwares as well as pdf format. Just google them.

I hope this helps. Welcome to SoM!

Thanks for the info. Is it safe for a beginner to practice spells without company?

Yes, when you're ready for that step you can work alone.

Sir? Again?

That aside... No. I don't have interest in taking students, if someone were to be willing to offer their knowledge to combine with mine so we might mutually benefit and learn advancing ourselves, I might look to consider it... I consider myself a terrible teacher, and realize I am a destructive force in myself. It's not a good idea for me to teach.

In addition to the two books Bo has mentioned, I would advise, after you read those two, to read as many varieties of books on basics as possible, or at least skim through them, to give yourself a more rounded picture on the different types of ceremonies and the diversity in which we all go about our individual practice, so that you can find the most comfortable path for yourself.
We all do things a little different and have somewhat different views on certain topics, so its best to start out understanding; there is no black and white, right or wrong way to practice. Do what feels right to you specifically.
Best of luck, and I'm here to help if ever you need it, just message me.
B.
