Magic, what do you use it for and how do you use it? What does it mean to you? Is it a hobby, something to dabble in, a lifestyle? What is magic to you?
I use magic for several reasons, and most of it is simply energy work. There are times one of my brothers suffer from an illness, so I tend to use magic to help them around with it. My parents tend to be more tricky if I want to help them, so I try to send them the appropriate energy as they sleep. Protection and luck are also something I commonly work with, but I tend to work better when the magic is intended for others rather than me. More spiritual aspects of my practices like the contacting of spirits and so forth are usually done for special occasions, many times religious ones. I think of magic as more of a lifestyle for me. Since I view magic to be all around us, I tend to see many things I do magical, so it occurs everywhere. Magic is the force that promotes change and movement on a subtle manner, whether it is to change bad luck to good, or move all outcomes to a desired result. Though I like using magic to help others, that doesn't mean I won't use it for my own gains. If I see something worth getting, I will see what I can do to get it, and so I am left alone, will do what is necessary to keep myself sheltered. It's an all purpose force, so I'll treat it as such.
Magic is as important to me as breathing. I view its effect in all things. While this is the case I try to only use magic directly for things I can justify as important. The most common reason for me to actually use magic is to help out in hauntings. Most of my learning is in that area. While this is the case I often time use magic without intending to. I noticed this at a young age where if I wanted something bad enough things tend to happen that give me it. This effect is one of the reason why I decided to learn about magic in the first place. This has changed how I view ritual. I believe ritual itself in unnecessary once you train your mind to follow the right pathways. The whole reason for ritual is to train these pathways and direct your thoughts and feelings.
I use magic for many things. For me, it's mostly about healing/serving myself and when I am able to do so to spread those things to others. In the same moment, I place a good deal of importance on curses and the like; I feel if properly approached a curse is extremely effective. I'm better at curses than at healing, which is a bit disconcerting at times.
Magic is my life, it's my breath, it's my blood. That's why I try to put out better stuff than I would normally and why I try so hard to get myself set the right way.
Magic is a way of life for me. it also helps a lot with my anxiety problems. I do a lot of work with spells and herbs. Currently learning elemental magic and potion making. When I feel lost or depressed or scared, I know the goddess is always with me and when I think about that I know everything is going to be okay.
this is a song that is very special to me that I listen to when I'm having a hard time

Magic is not like a lifestyle, its what I live in, its like having the apple and there is no going back when you gain knowledge. I have several astral people hanging around me all the time, I have them as friends, servitors, and variety of other special connections. I see magic as how world works, when you know it, you work in better ways, you become a better person, because you learn how to act and react with everything going on in your life.
I love being magical, I love having it in my life and am very thankful for letting me share :)
