fireside lust spell

Hi I'm new to all this and tried the fireside lust spell and I says to hold the paper with your desireds name on above the candle with a corner touching....... the paper burnt before I could finish the chant. Help anyone please.

i don't know the spell in question but i would of dropped the burning paper into my cauldron [or failing that a fireproof dish] and completed the chant.

you probably need to recasst, since i'm guessing you didn't finish casting it and even if you did the shock of the paper burning broke your concentration. try memorizing the steps before casting, charge the items with energy, visualize the desired outcome, burn the paper saying the chant, if it catches fire, place it in a fireproof dish [like a pot] finish the chant and continue to visualize your desired outcome as the candles burns down.
