Learn what magic is, learn what it can do, learn what it can't do, learn how it works.

Look into meditation, visualization, and energy work.

Not sure what your question is exactly. Study magick before casting it.

Basically magick is a neutral force found everywhere. It is part of nature, ruled by nature, and cannot contradict nature. Magick only effects forces and does not create dramatic, instant, physical change. As also mentioned magick is neutral [there isn't 'white' or 'black' magick] it is the intent of the caster which gives it a positive or negative charge.

There's a few forums and articles you could read to give you a better guide or pick up a book for beginners.

well i suggest you should know first what kind of magic you want to learn. you can go to covens page to choose what kind of magic you want to learn and read their forums .

All magic is from the same source. Choosing "white magic" or "black magic" doesn't matter because both types require the same divine energy and the same steps. Basically, you charge energy, visualize your intent and focus on your goal. Once you understand magic and how it works you can focus on magical paths. Though I do agree joining a coven that teaches will help you along on your journey.
