The Kybalion is pretty good hermetic related work, here is a link directly to it, a pdf version. The work does go on the defensive. Just try to pay attention on the axioms and don't concern yourself too much with other stuff it goes on about.

The focus is on self-mastery, mental transmutation. Being the cause instead of the effect. Even mainstream personal development materials (including anger/stress management, effective communication, behavioral) are hermetic in nature. You can draw up those personal development works as well.
