April's Herb of the Month is Chrysanthemums!

Come share with the rest of the group your thoughts, feelings, and personal experiences with this plant. They come in so many different colors. Which one is your favorite? Does this plant bring up any memories for you? Have you ever grown them or gotten them as a gift before? If you have used this before tell us how. Even if you plan to use it one day how would you incorperate it? Did you know you can use the petals in cooking? If you were to, what kind of recipe would you think of doing?

As for how I use this herb in my practice; I mainly just grow them and sometimes harvest them to give to Aris as an offering. Now that I know I can make tea from it I think I will try doing that as well. I tend to believe in the properties of an herb all by itself. Sometimes it just existing if that makes sense. So in the Greek sense of it warding off bad spirits and I keep it near my altar in front of my sliding glass door.

A perhaps weird belief I have always had is to always lock doors and windows as I think them an invitation otherwise. Not just for humans but spirits to enter as well. Of course some live with me and some I believe are strong enough to come in anyways but I think it helps. I used to put little sun, star, and moon charms on my doors and windows as well back at my old place. Not with any kind of fancy spell but more just my energy channeled into them to mark it as me territory and the feeling of protectedness.
