Protection spells?

So last night I was using a protection spell because Im just starting out and figured I should do that first before i dive deeper into into different spells. Later in the night when i was going to sleep, I ended up having a nightmare. Is this because I didnt use a dream protection spell too? Or because it didnt work?

Nightmares, while they can be caused by such attacks, typically result from something done or seen that day or even a subconscious anxiety can trigger one. Further details on the nightmare would allow an interpretation to make things a little clearer.

I doubt your nightmare and spell working are connected.

Dreams are reflections of the subconscious and your fears.
