Fairies-Mid Summer

Midsummer is considered a powerful day to commune with the fairy folk. Many traditionsuse this day to make offerings or gestures of good will to the Fae.If you will be celebrating outside, you can integratean element of this into your ritual. Try placing flowers known to attract the fairies around the outside of your circle, or put a bowl of milk.Do a ritual that includes asking for the blessings of the faeries.It is true that you're probably more likely to find faeriefolk in the country; they're said to be uncomfortable around too much metal especially cold iron and are drawn to flowers,birds, and bees.

But who can say that there aren't fairies in the city, too? Try putting out a bird feeder or placing a few small offering bowls out where they can find them: fairies like mead is it said, and honey ( Which mead is made from ) , as well as small sweet treats, Some takes say that like milk, too. Pretty sparkly things may attract their attention.

Remember when dealing with the Fae to always be respectful and polite.They can be quite tricky if annoyed.

When is mid summer?

Personally , I think mid summer can be any day in the summer. But, in Germany , it is June 24th, which has passed. :)

Hey Jax! Not sure if you already know this but another good offering I have heard is sugar. Cherries are said to attract Fae as well. Have you looked into fairy circles? If you haven't already I would suggest doing so since Faries congregate there. Though do be warned, a lot of new age sources will conflate Fairies into being Elves. This is not the case, they are completely different creatures. Elves, or Alfar as they are called by the Norse name are Germanic in origin. Fairies to my understanding are Celtic.

Though Fae have multiple spirits under that label such as Will-O-Wisp, Brownies, Sprites and other wee-folk Elves are not one of them. Also be wary of anyone who says Nymphs are Fae as they are not. Nymphai or Nymphes are Greek lesser Goddesses of nature. They already have sub-types such as Nerieds, Oceanids, Naiads, Dryads, and Aurai. Those whom try to mash all the lore from around the world together are not to be trusted. More so because they say Nymphs are Fae but have no idea what Nymphs are, where they historically come from, or what kinds of Nymphs there are, and cannot name any from historical text or yield any stories about them that they can provide legitimate sources for.
