Possible Loa?

I hope someone can help me identify this spirit. Hopefully I won't sound too insane :) . A few nights ago, after ritual, I was suddenly graced with the presence of a ... well, I think he was an Loa. A shortish spirit, in African tribal paint and animal teeth around his neck. He took my chalice, thanked me for the water, drank it, and left. He was a cheery fellow and quite polite.

Most confusing experience in a long time, heh.

Are you saying he physically drink a chalice of water? Only one Lwa interacts directly with mortals, and that is Papa Legba. Any dealings with the other Lwa are made through him. That being said, there is always the fact that some spirits may not be as they appear. Even if he is as he appears, he could just be some random spirit of a tribal African. Or an astral being with a similar culture.

Back to the water though; are you saying he physically lifed a chalice from your hands, drank the actual water from it, leaving it empty, and then left? Because in that case, it seems likely you were simply dreaming.

No.. he didn't physically lift it from my hands to drink from the chalice. Sorry. I should have made it clearer, lol. He did it while I was meditating. He went to my altar on the astral and drank the water that way. It was a bizarre experience :)
