Trouble on this site

I get tired of people on here trying to scare people or scam people out of money and information. This site is used to share and get advice, tips etc. some people even offer help, however if you know you don’t even do magic or have interest in it please do not try an help! If a perosn messages you asking for help or ask a question, you either help or not. Don’t try and scare the person by saying a spirit is on them and his or her life in danger and don’t be trying to threaten someone if they choose not to believe you. People are bullies on here and full of nonsense this is not a Joke sure most people on here are young and some
are older. Have some respect for everyone tired of this. Where are the people who suppose to be monitoring this site?

If people are bothering you you can still report any pms/people you see pushing these scams and scare tactics to a moderator and they will take care of it. It isn't allowed here.

Eidos is right. If you receive a private message from a suspicious person, or a mail which is harassing, threatening, or otherwise inappropriate, feel free to report it to the site administrators. There are instructions on the Mail page itself.

You're also right, that this site is not meant to be used for dishonest purposes. Unfortunately, this is the Internet, and scammers abound. So do rude people and those with completely inappropriate behavior. Sadly, we cannot predict with an algorithm which accounts being made are being created for misuse. If we could, such people would have a harder time. However, they may well still find a way around the restrictions. Policing an active message board takes a lot of work. And this is part of the reason that reporting these things becomes important. The moderation staff cannot possibly hunt down every incursion.

Yes: some people are jerks. But this is, over all, a pretty good online community for discussing magic-related topics.

Sadly sometimes our members receive harassing, inappropriate, or threatening e-mails. Understand please that we do not tolerate that on this site. Here is what to do about such thiings:

1. Block the person from sending you more mail by clicking on the "Ignore" tab beneath their message.

2. Save the message in your "Default" folder (This will happen automatically if you do not intentionally delete it.)

3. Send an e-mail to Petrarca, the Site Administrator, at http://www.spellsofmagic.com/profile.html?profile=1&t=ma... and tell him what has happened. He can then take a look at the e-mail in question and take the appropriate action.

Sadly, much as we don't like people like this on Spells of Magic, the Moderators cannot take direct action unless they can actually see the e-mail, only Petrarca can do that, so if it is an e-mail then the person who can help is Petrarca.
