Yes, you can. It is always good form to ask.

I know for alot of People it maybe hard to decide if a God/Goddess is specifically right for you considering the origin of the Deity, and The Culture as well as forms of practices Associated with that God and/Goddess.

I Suggest you do as Much Research as possible upon the Type and Form Of God you wish to work with or Commune with to the very least. Always Knowing what you get yourself into is 100% important.

Lastly, I know you desire to contact them, But If you feel as if you may want to be in contact with a deity because you feel as if You Align with a God Somewhere Out There, Then trust it in yourself to know what you do and do not believe in worshipping. It's important to ask and discover for yourself what Path you end up Taking is the right one for you. May You Have Blessed Days and Nights to come.

Certainly, try meditation on some God's name and with the wishes you have. But you have to be patient. It may take longer.
