Others may disagree with this but I personally believe that a person cannot just choose a path. There has to be something more to a spiritual connection than I think I want to be a xxx today. Some of us are born into a faith as part of our heritage, others convert because they are dissatisfied with their connection to a faith because it doesnt fulfill them. The analogy is quite simple. Choose the path that speaks to you, fulfills you and fits well with your morals, ethics and the way you live.
Another important aspect is does your faith represent you? Do you believe in it to the point that it is a source of personal pride. If asked, can you proudly answer Yes, I am a xxx and I feel deeply connected to my faith. If this cannot be done. perhaps the path you have chosen will not work well for you.
As for having magick as a part of your daily life, it is either there or it is not. Rituals, altars, incantations and the like are secondary to belief that magick exists.
