I was performing a simple spell to attract new friendships.
I had cast my circle, invoked
deities, visualized, lit my candles (one for me, the other symbolizing friends), I burnt my list of friendship qualities.
The fireproof dish that was holding the candle for friends and the list shattered and went everywhere - luckily I had water on hand to put out the fire.

This may not have anything to do with the working, it may be that the dish had a hairline fracture in it, it was much colder than it usually is or some other reason why the dish would shatter naturally. These kind of things can happen.
I would give it a few days or even a week or so and keep an eye on the working. It is unlikely, given the nature of the spell that anything negative will come from this.
You can keep and use your rose quartz for other workings as well if you'd like. I see no reason in throwing away a perfectly good stone.
If you don't feel you'll be needing it you could give it back to the Earth by setting it somewhere out of doors where others whom may use its energy could find it.
Or give it to someone who may appreciate it.
Or you could cleanse by running under cool water and reuse the stone for future workings.
Heat and glass are not known for working together too well. I've had jar spells explode and came to the conclusion it was scientific and utterly natural.
Perhaps trying ceramic in your firey workings may help.

A word of warning for the future...never, ever burn things in a glass container unless that glass is specifically treated to withstand heat. It will always shatter. Better yet, make a point of burning things in something that will not break such as a metal container.
The glass shattered because of the phenomenon called thermal shock. The burning paper on one side of the glass (inside of or atop the dish) caused the glass to expand much more than the cooler glass on the other side was able to withstand. This is the reason even most oven-safe glass comes with instructions for temperature limits, not putting it directly from the refrigerator into the oven, and in some cases not putting it into a pre-heated oven at all, but letting the dish warm with the oven environment.

you could go with the scientific explanation that the heat caused it to shatter [it could if had a crack in it already for example] or spiritually you charged a ton of energy into the spell. i would keep calm [i doubt it backfired or you did something wrong]
